We appreciate you taking the time to visit the HEINI’S CHEESE CHALET Web Site. The chalet is a family business that  was purchased by our Grandfather, John Dauwalder, in 1935. Since that time, we have proudly hosted millions of visitors each year!  

 HEINI’S CHEESE CHALET is one of the few actual cheese producing facilities in Ohio’s Amish Country. Our cheeses are produced using 100% Amish Farm Milk- milk that is free of artificial growth hormones. We purchase milk from over 250 small to medium size Amish Farms. The average herd size of these farms is eight to ten cows and much of this milk comes to us in the old fashioned milk cans!  Once the milk arrives at our plant, HEINI’S Master Cheese-makers begin producing a complete menu of All Natural, Artisan cheeses in many different styles ranging from Deli Wheels, Slicing Loaves, Longhorn Style, Cracker Cuts, and Half Moons.

Customers throughout the United States have come to recognize  items such as HEINI’S LACEY BABY SWISS, AMISH MILK CAN CHEDDAR, and “Lactose Free” HEINI’S YOGURT CULTURED® CHEESE for consistently high quality, 100% Natural ingredients, and exceptional flavor.

The Amish have had a strong influence in the way our company operates. The majority of our employees are Amish, as are most of our neighbors.
