HEINI’S CHEESE CHALET is an actual cheese producing plant operating in the heart of Holmes County,
Ohio - Home of the world’s largest Amish community! Our facility was built in the late 1800’s, and was purchased by the Dauwalder
family from Switzerland in 1935.
We are asked time and again to explain the difference between HEINI’
S CHEESES and those of our many competitors, both originating in Ohio’ s Amish Country and in other areas throughout the country. The answer is quite simple:
- HEINI’S Brand Cheeses are all produced in Ohio ’s Amish Country. HEINI’S Cheese is
locally produced using manufacturing processes that were developed many years ago.
- 100% AMISH FARM MILK - Years ago the Dauwalder family made a commitment to
produce all HEINI’S Cheeses with 100% Amish Farm Milk from the local community.
- This milk is purchased from over 270 Amish Farms located throughout our local area.
These are typically small family farms with an average herd size of 8-10 cows.
- AMISH FARM MILK purchased to be used in the making of HEINI’S CHEESE is certified
to be Artificial Growth Hormone Free.
